Farewell to Freedom A Project of Feature Films
What begins in Las Vegas doesn't always end there.
This film is based on Author Anita Waggoner's true life experiences as told in her award winning novel Farewell to Freedom. She has been working on this project for over seven years. This female character driven modern day western will be filmed on limited locations in the State of Oklahoma using local SAG actors and crew. The entire production team is based in Oklahoma... the story happened in Oklahoma. It's a new day western with lots of cowboys, rodeo action, bull riding, country western music and romance... similar to Crazy Heart or August Osage County with a ton of Thelma and Louise elements. If Anita could afford to fund it herself she would. Unfortunately, her fortunes were spent in Freedom where she built a western guest lodge and raised rodeo bulls with the Oklahoma cowboy she met in Las Vegas. The romance lasted thirteen years. There were many good times and a lot of bad. It became a matter of pure survival for the city girl seeking the love of a cowboy in the old cow-town. There is a lot of humor and plenty of strife. It's a classic that might be compared to such greats as "Giant" and "The Last Picture Show"... this is a film that will live on forever.
